Every draw is independent and random, and past results never change your chances. This is not a tool for predicting winners. It is for seeing the odds for yourself, and how the losses grow the more you buy.

Using the estimated prizes, the average return is about 50.0% (about ₩500 for 1 ticket). 4th prize (₩50,000) and 5th prize (₩5,000) are fixed. Prizes for 1st to 3rd change with each draw's sales and number of winners, so average amounts worked out from the official split are used as estimates (50% of sales goes to prizes; after 4th and 5th are paid, the rest is shared 75% to 1st, 12.5% to 2nd and 12.5% to 3rd). Carry-overs and taxes are not included.

Everything runs on this device. Draw results and your history are saved only in this browser.

How to use

  1. 1. Choose your numbers

In the panel below, choose “Pick my own” under “How to pick” and tap 6 numbers from 1 to 45. “Quick pick” chooses 6 for you and “Copy” copies them. To try different numbers every time, leave it on “Always quick pick”.

  2. 2. Choose how many, then draw

Choose how many tickets (1 to 1 million) under “Tickets to buy”, then scroll back up and tap “Buy and draw”. Your tickets appear, the glass draw machine drops the balls one by one, and when it stops your tickets are checked against that draw. Winning tickets get a stamp and the net shows below.

  3. 3. Keep going, or draw until the 1st prize

Choose “Keep going” under “Repeat” to keep drawing with the same number of tickets until you tap “Stop”. “Until 1st prize” fast-forwards, stops at the draw that wins the 1st prize, and shows how many draws it took and how much you spent.

  4. 4. See the results so far and the chart

Scroll down to “Results so far” to compare the money spent, money won, net and return rate, the chart of the net over time, and the official and actual odds for each prize. Change “Tickets per week” to see how many years that equals.

Good for

  • Seeing what it takes to win 1st prize

Choose “Until 1st prize” to find out in seconds how many tickets it took, how many won you spent, and how many years it would take buying every week. On average it takes about 8.15 million tickets.

Anyone who wants to feel how far away the jackpot is

  • Before you buy a ticket on a trip to Korea

A ticket costs ₩1,000. See the odds and prize for each tier and the expected value (about ₩500), side by side with the results of actually buying tens of thousands of tickets.

Travelers who want to buy one as a souvenir

  • Comparing it with other 6-number lotteries

You pick from 1 to 45 — more numbers than Japan's LOTO6 (1–43) — and the odds of 1st prize are about 1 in 8.15 million. Both are “pick 6” games, but you can see in numbers just how much further away the jackpot is.

Anyone curious about how lottery odds differ

  • Enjoying the draw machine together

The 3D draw machine mixes yellow, blue, red, gray and green balls and drops them one at a time. In full screen, it looks just like the Saturday night draw on Korean TV.

Families and friends looking for some fun

Good to know before you start

  • It doesn't predict winning numbers or suggest “lucky” numbers. Every number has the same chance.
  • You can't buy real tickets here, and there are no links to ticket sellers.
  • Prizes for 1st to 3rd are estimates based on averages, without carry-overs or taxes. Actual amounts change with each draw.

Korea Lotto 6/45 odds and how this simulator works

Lotto 6/45 is South Korea's national lottery, where you choose 6 numbers from 1 to 45. There are 8,145,060 possible combinations, and 1st prize needs all 6 to match, so the odds for one ticket (one ₩1,000 game) are about 1 in 8.15 million. There's one draw every Saturday evening — buying 1 ticket every week, that works out to once every 157,000 years or so on average. Half of sales comes back as prize money, and the expected value of one ticket is about ₩500.

For every draw, this simulator first decides the winning numbers with your device's cryptographic random numbers (crypto.getRandomValues), then checks all the tickets you bought for that draw. Even with 1 million tickets there is only one draw, just like the real lottery. The 3D draw machine only replays numbers that were already decided. Checking runs separately from the screen (in a Web Worker), so the page doesn't freeze even with 1 million tickets. Your numbers and results stay on this device and are never sent anywhere.

FAQ

Common questions about the Korea Lotto 6/45 simulator.

Are my numbers or results sent anywhere?

No. All drawing and counting happens in the browser on this device, and your numbers and totals stay only on this device. You can erase them with “Clear totals”.

Can it predict which numbers are more likely to win?

No. Each Lotto 6/45 draw is separate and completely random. Numbers that came up (or didn't) in past draws, or patterns in the numbers you pick, don't change your chances. This simulator is for fun and for understanding the odds, not for predictions.

How are the random numbers generated?

It uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) to pick 7 different numbers from 1 to 45 without bias (6 main numbers and 1 bonus number). The 3D draw machine only shows the balls coming out in the order already decided — it never changes the result.

What prize amounts are used?

4th prize is a fixed ₩50,000 and 5th prize a fixed ₩5,000. Prizes for 1st to 3rd change with each draw's sales and number of winners, so average amounts worked out from the official split are used as estimates (1st about ₩1.95 billion, 2nd about ₩54.2 million, 3rd about ₩1.43 million). Real draws usually land close to these, but 1st prize is smaller when there are many winners and larger when there are few.

What are the expected value and payout rate?

Using the estimated prizes, the expected value of a ₩1,000 ticket is about ₩500, a payout rate of about 50% (officially, 50% of sales goes to prize money). The more you buy, the closer your winnings get to about half of what you spent — the rest is a loss.

How long does “Until 1st prize” take?

The odds of 1st prize are about 1 in 8.15 million, so on average it takes about 8.15 million tickets (about ₩8.1 billion). With luck it can hit within a few hundred thousand, or it can take more than 20 million. To quit partway, press “Stop” and the results so far are added.

Are taxes included?

No. All prizes shown are before tax. In Korea, prizes over ₩2 million are taxed at 22% (33% on the part above ₩300 million), so the take-home amount for 1st to 3rd prize is lower than shown. 4th and 5th prizes are tax-free.

Won't buying 1,000,000 tickets freeze the page?

No. Checking the tickets runs separately from the screen (in a Web Worker) and finishes while the draw machine spins. “Until 1st prize” fast-forwards, and you can stop at any time with “Stop”.

The draw machine isn't showing in 3D.

The 3D draw machine uses WebGL. On devices or browsers without WebGL, a flat version shows the balls coming out one at a time instead. Results are decided the same way. If “Reduce motion” is turned on in your device settings, the animation is skipped and the result is shown right away.

How are the “years” calculated?

The number of tickets bought is divided by “Tickets per week” × 52 weeks. Lotto 6/45 is drawn once a week, on Saturdays, and each person can buy up to ₩100,000 (100 tickets) per draw.

Is it free?

Yes, it's free. No sign-up needed, and there are no ads.
