How to use

  1. 1. Enter your text

Paste or type English text or variable names into the “Text to convert” box at the top. To try it out, tap “Sample” above the box. The text appears in uppercase in the “Converted text” box below right away.

  2. 2. Choose a case style

  3. 3. Copy the result

Tap “Copy” below the result to copy all the converted text, ready to paste into another app. To keep it as a file, tap “Save as text”.

Great for

  • Fixing text typed with Caps Lock on

Paste text you typed with Caps Lock on, or a heading in all caps, and turn it back into lowercase or Sentence case in a click. No need to retype it.

    Anyone writing emails or documents

  • Tidying up headings and titles

Switch slide or article headings to Title Case for a proper headline look. Convert as many lines as you like at once.

Bloggers, students and anyone making slides

  • Making variable and file names consistent

userName to user_name, or user name to userName. Convert between camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case for a whole list, one line at a time.

    Developers and designers

  • Cleaning up full-width letters

Full-width letters and digits like TOKYO, often found in text copied from Japanese, Chinese or Korean sources, can be turned into regular ones before the case is changed. Handy before entering data into a form or system.

Good to know

  • Title Case capitalizes every word, including short ones like a, of and the. It doesn't follow style guides such as APA or Chicago.
  • Proper nouns and abbreviations (iPhone, NASA, etc.) are changed to the chosen style too, so check the result afterwards.
  • Only full-width Latin letters and digits are converted to half-width. Other full-width characters, such as Japanese kana or symbols, stay as they are.

About letter case and naming styles

In normal English text, you capitalize the start of each sentence and proper nouns, and write the rest in lowercase. Headings often use Title Case, where the main words start with a capital. This tool only changes the case of letters and leaves spaces, punctuation and scripts without case (such as Chinese or Japanese) untouched. Letters from other languages, like accented letters, German umlauts or Cyrillic, are converted too.

In programming, names can't contain spaces, so there are named styles for joining words in a readable way: camelCase capitalizes each word after the first (userName), snake_case joins words with “_” (user_name), and kebab-case joins them with “-” (user-name). This tool splits words at spaces, symbols and changes from lowercase to uppercase, so you can convert from any style to any other, one line at a time.

kebab-caseuser-first-nameURLs, CSS classes and file names

FAQ

Answers to common questions before you start.

Is the text I enter sent anywhere?

No. All conversion happens in the browser on your device. Your text is never sent to a server or stored. You can safely convert confidential text and code.

Is there a convert button?

No. The result updates as soon as you type or pick a style, so you can click through the styles and compare them.

Can it convert full-width letters (ABC)?

Yes. By default, it changes the case and keeps them full-width (abc → ABC). Turn on “Full-width to half-width” to turn full-width letters and digits into regular ones first (abc → ABC).

Does it convert other full-width characters?

No. Only Latin letters and digits are converted to half-width. Other full-width characters, such as Japanese kana or symbols like “!”, stay as they are.

What's the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?

Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word (The Quick Brown Fox). Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of the text and the first letter after “.”, “?”, “!” or a line break, and makes everything else lowercase (The quick brown fox).

Can short words like of and the stay lowercase?

No. Title Case capitalizes every word. Style guides like APA and Chicago each have different rules about which words stay lowercase, so fix those words by hand after converting.

How does it convert to camelCase or snake_case?

It splits the text into words at spaces, symbols like “_”, “-” and “.”, and changes from lowercase to uppercase, then joins the words in the chosen style. Runs of capitals like getHTTPResponse are split into get, HTTP and Response. Numbers stay attached to the word before them (version2).

Can I convert several lines at once?

Yes. Text styles such as UPPERCASE and lowercase convert the whole text and keep the line breaks. Programming styles such as camelCase treat each line as a separate name, so you can convert a whole list of variable names at once.

Does it work with accented letters and other languages?

Yes. Accented letters (é → É), umlauts and Cyrillic or Greek letters are converted too. Scripts without upper and lower case, such as Japanese or Chinese, stay as they are. In programming styles, they're kept as part of the word (café menu → café_menu).

Is it free?

Yes, it's free. No sign-up or install needed, and there are no ads. Just open it in your browser on your phone or computer.
