How to use

  1. 1. Scan or choose a document

Tap “Take a photo” and photograph the document. To use photos you already have, tap “Choose files”. A full-screen editor opens.

  2. 2. Fit the corners to the document

The orange frame on the photo is fitted to the document’s corners automatically. If a corner is off, drag its orange dot with your finger onto the corner of the document. A magnifier appears above your finger while you drag.

  3. 3. Choose a look

Pick “Enhanced”, “Original”, “Grayscale” or “B&W” in the band below the picture. The view switches to “Result” so you can see the straightened document.

  4. 4. Save the PDF

Tap “Save” at the top right of the editor to save all the pages as one PDF.

Great for

  • When you don’t have a scanner

Just photograph a form or contract with your phone to get a straight PDF that looks like it came from a copier.

People who send documents as PDF

  • Online forms and applications

For when a school, office or employer asks for a PDF. “Make smaller” helps you stay under file size limits.

    People filling in applications

  • Sending receipts

Receipts shot at an angle come out straight, and with the shadows gone the numbers are easy to read. Handy for expense reports or sharing with family.

    People filing expenses

  • Keeping handouts and handwritten notes

Keep school notices, whiteboards and notebook pages together in one PDF, however many pages there are.

Good to know before you start

  • There’s no text recognition (OCR), so text in the PDF can’t be searched or copied.
  • If the paper is strongly curved, like an open book, it may not come out completely straight. Lay the paper flat when you take the photo.
  • To put photos into one PDF as they are, without any changes, “Images to PDF” is quicker.

How a document shot at an angle comes out straight

A document photographed at an angle shows up as a skewed shape in the photo. Once the four corners are fitted to the document, that shape is stretched back into a rectangle (perspective correction), as if the photo were taken from straight above. The corners are found automatically by looking for a bright, pale area of paper.

The “Enhanced”, “Grayscale” and “B&W” looks measure the brightness of the paper in each part of the page, remove shadows, uneven lighting and yellowing, and then make the paper white and the text darker. Even a photo with a light shadow from your hand or a book becomes easier to read.

FAQ

Answers to common questions before you start.

Are my document photos sent anywhere?

No. Perspective correction and PDF making both happen inside the browser on your device, and your photos are never uploaded to a server. It’s safe to use for important documents like contracts and IDs.

The corners were detected in the wrong place.

Drag the orange dots onto the corners of the document. A magnifier appears while you drag, so you can place them precisely. If the document fills the whole photo, “Whole photo” is faster.

How should I take the photo so the corners are found easily?

Place the document on a desk or floor that’s darker than the paper, and make sure all four corners are in the photo. A white desk, or a document that runs off the edge of the photo, makes the corners harder to find.

Can it remove shadows and uneven lighting?

Yes, with “Enhanced”, “Grayscale” or “B&W”. They measure and even out the brightness of the paper in each part of the page, so the paper turns white even with a light shadow from your phone or hand. Dark shadows may remain a little.

Should I choose “Enhanced” or “B&W”?

“Enhanced” is best for documents with stamps, colored ink or photos. For text-only documents, “B&W” gives crisp, photocopy-like pages and the smallest PDF.

How do I change the page order or rotate a page?

Use the arrows in the page list to swap a page with the one before or after it, and remove pages you don’t need with the × at the top right. Turn pages with “Rotate left” and “Rotate right” (on a phone, they appear in the editor while the “Result” view is shown).

The PDF is too large to send by email.

Set “Quality” to “Make smaller”. For text-only documents, choosing the “B&W” look makes it even smaller.

Will the text in the PDF be searchable?

No. There’s no text recognition (OCR), so pages go in as images.

Does the PDF get a watermark or logo?

No. There’s no page limit either, and every feature works without signing up.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up and no ads.
