How to use

  1. 1. Count

Tap the big “+1” to add 1. Tapping the number works too. Went one too far? Take 1 off with “−1”.

  2. 2. Add counters and count several things at once

Tap “Add counter” below the number to open a screen where you name it. Type a name like “Men” or “Women” and tap “Done”. The counters line up side by side, so you can count with each one’s “+1” and “−” at the same time.

  3. 3. Change or add buttons

Tap the “…” next to a counter’s name to open its settings. Change a number under “Add buttons” to something like “5” or “0.5”, and the button changes to match, like “+5”. Tap “Add button” to line up as many as 4 add buttons, like “+1” and “+3” (“−” subtracts the first button’s amount). You can also rename, reset to 0 or delete the counter here.

  4. 4. Undo mistakes and keep your results

Pressed the wrong button? Tap “Undo” below the counters to go back one step (it undoes presses on any counter, in the order you made them). The total of all counters appears below them. “Copy all” copies every name and count at once (ready to paste into a spreadsheet).

Great for

  • Counting visitors by gender or by adults and children

Line up counters for “Men”, “Women” and “Children” and you can sort visitors as they arrive, all on one screen. The total of all counters appears below.

    Reception and event staff

  • Traffic counts, bird counts and other surveys by type

Line up “Cars”, “Bikes” and “Pedestrians” and count them all at once. When you’re done, “Copy all” lets you paste the results into a spreadsheet.

    Surveyors and observers

  • Counting stock by the box

Line up add buttons like “+1” and “+24”, and one press counts a whole box while leftovers go one at a time, all on the same counter.

    Shop and warehouse staff

  • Counting reps and practice sets

Go full screen and the number shows up large enough to read from across the room. Counts are saved on your device, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off.

    Anyone working out

Good to know before you start

  • Counts are saved only in this browser. They aren’t shared with other devices or browsers, and clearing your browser data clears them too.
  • You can count from 0 up to 999,999,999. Each counter can have up to 4 add buttons, each from 0.01 to 1,000 (up to 2 decimal places). Negative numbers aren’t supported.
  • iPhones can’t vibrate from the browser, so “Vibrate on each press” doesn’t work there.

A counter that keeps up with many counts, and forgives a slip of the finger

Up to 20 counters fit on one screen, and you can press “+” or “−” on any of them right away. There’s nothing to switch, so you can keep up even when what you’re counting changes from one moment to the next, like sorting visitors by gender. The counter you pressed last gets an orange border and its number briefly grows, so you can see at a glance which one you hit.

Every change remembers the previous count, so “Undo” takes you back a step on any counter, even after resetting to 0 or deleting a counter (up to 100 steps, while the page is open). Counts are saved in this browser and nothing is sent to a server, so once the page has loaded it keeps working even without a signal.

FAQ

Answers to common questions before you start.

Are my counts sent anywhere?

No. The counter runs entirely in the browser on your device, and your counts and names are never sent to a server.

Will my counts disappear if I close the page?

No. Counts, names and settings are saved in this browser every time you press a button. Next time you open the page, you can carry on where you left off.

Can I count several things at once?

Yes. Add counters with “Add counter” and they line up on the screen, each with its own “+” and “−” you can press right away. The total of all counters appears below.

How many counters can I make?

Up to 20. To remove one you don’t need, press the “…” next to its name and choose “Delete”.

Can I have separate add buttons, like “+1” and “+5”?

Yes. Press the “…” next to the name, then press “Add button” to add another add button. Each counter can have up to 4, each set to a number from 0.01 to 1,000 (up to 2 decimal places). “−” subtracts the first button’s amount.

What if I press the wrong button?

Press “Undo” to go back one step. It undoes presses on any counter, one at a time, in the order you made them. It also undoes “Reset to 0”, “Reset all to 0” and deleting a counter.

Can I count with the keyboard?

Yes. Press Space, ↑ or + to add, and ↓ or − to subtract. Number keys (1–4) add the amount of that numbered add button. With two or more counters, choose which one to count with (the one with the orange border) using ← →. Undo with Ctrl+Z (Command+Z on Mac).

Will the page zoom in if I tap quickly?

No. Double-tap zoom is turned off in the counting area.

Can I paste the results into a spreadsheet?

Press “Copy all” to copy one name and count per line, separated by a tab. Paste into Excel or Google Sheets and names and counts land in separate columns. With two or more counters, the last line holds the total.

Does it make sounds or vibrate?

Both are off at first. Turn on sound with the speaker button at the top right of the counter, and vibration with “Vibrate on each press”. Vibration works only on devices that support it (mostly Android); iPhones won’t vibrate.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up and no ads.
