How to use

  1. 1. Choose a template

Under “Choose what it’s for”, tap a use in the chips at the top (such as “Ask for reviews”), then tap the template closest to the card you want. The full-screen editor opens.

  2. 2. Enter the QR code content

Tap “QR” in the band at the bottom of the editor. Under “Content”, type the URL of the page that should open when someone scans it. You can also choose Wi-Fi or a contact.

  3. 3. Add decorations and text, then move them

Choose a decoration under “Decor” in the tool row at the bottom, then tap where you want it on the card. Move it with your finger and resize it with a round corner handle or two fingers; the × at the top right of the frame deletes it. Choose “Text” and tap the card to start typing right there. There are about 400 decorations: pick them with the tabs and category chips at the top, or search by name.

  4. 4. Choose a size and save

Close the editor, choose a “Size” under “Choose a size and save”, then tap “Save PNG”. You can also save with “Save” at the top of the editor. For printing on paper, you can also choose “Save PDF (for printing)”.

Great for

  • Help guests get on your Wi-Fi

Make a card with a Wi-Fi QR code plus the network name and password. Guests whose phones can’t scan it can still type them in from the card.

    Shops, rentals and offices

  • Table tents and counter displays

Write why people should scan — “See our menu”, “Leave us a review” — in big letters above the QR code. Print it at A5 or postcard size.

    Restaurants and shops

  • Photo sharing and RSVPs for weddings and events

Turn the QR code for a shared photo album or a sign-up page into a card with flowers or confetti. Works as an A4 sign at the venue, too.

    Hosts and organizers

  • Share your social profile

Save it as a full-screen Tall (Story) image and people can scan it right off your phone. You can make a business card–size card as well.

Good to know before you start

  • The QR code content can’t be changed after it’s made. If the URL changes, make the card again. Scans can’t be counted either.
  • Photo backgrounds and recolored QR codes can be harder to scan. Besides the on-screen check, test with your phone camera before printing.
  • If you only need the QR code, or want to save it as SVG, use QR Code Generator.

Give people a reason to scan

A QR code on its own often gets ignored, because people can’t tell what it opens. A short line saying what scanning does — “See our menu”, “Connect to Wi-Fi” — makes people far more likely to scan it. Pick a template to get a card with a heading, a message and small print around the QR code, then move the text, QR code and decorations freely to finish it.

Print sizes are saved as 300 dpi images (sharp on home and shop printers). Saved as a PDF, the card becomes a single page exactly the size of A4, A5, postcard, 3.5×5 photo or business card paper, so you just choose “Actual size” in your print settings to print it at that size.

FAQ

Answers to common questions before you start.

Is the text or photo I add sent anywhere?

No. The card is made in your browser on your device. Your text, Wi-Fi password and background photo are never uploaded to a server.

Will the QR code on the card actually scan?

The finished card is test-scanned on the page, and you’ll see “Checked: the QR code on this card scans.” The QR code can’t be made smaller than a printable size (0.4 mm per module), and it only rotates in 90° steps. If it can’t be read, a warning appears — try a darker dot color or move things that overlap it.

Do I have to show the Wi-Fi password on the card?

No. Turn off “Show the password too” and the card connects with the QR code alone. Showing it is a kind touch for people whose phones can’t scan.

The printed size is off.

Save with “Save PDF (for printing)” and choose “Actual size” or “100%” in your print settings. If “Fit to page” is selected, it prints slightly smaller.

Can I print several business cards on one A4 sheet?

Yes. For business card, postcard and 3.5×5 sizes, turn on “Fill an A4 sheet in the PDF” to get a PDF with the cards packed edge to edge on A4 (10 business cards). Choose “Actual size” in your print settings.

Are there sizes for social media?

Yes. You can choose “Tall (Story)” (1080×1920px), which fills a phone screen, and “Square (Post)” (1080×1080px), which suits feed posts.

Can I use my own photo or logo?

Yes. Choose “Photo” under “Background” in the tool row to put a photo behind the card. Add a logo with “Image” — it becomes an image you can move. Images are only loaded on your device and never sent anywhere.

Can I move the text and QR code anywhere I like?

Yes. Tap anything on the card to select it and drag it to move it. Use a round corner handle to resize and the round arrow to rotate; things snap to the card’s center and edges. Double-click text to edit it in place. Under “Layers” in the tool row you can pick small things hidden under others, change the stacking order, hide and lock. If you change too much, use the back arrow (Undo) or ⌘+Z (Ctrl+Z on Windows).

Can I change the QR code’s shape and color?

Tap “QR” in the tool row, or the QR code on the card, to get the same settings as QR Code Generator: content, shapes, colors, gradients, icons, your own logo, photo QR codes, error correction and margin.

How many templates and decorations are there?

There are 109 templates for 16 uses, such as Wi-Fi signs, menus, bookings and coupons. There are about 400 decorations in 29 categories, such as frames, speech bubbles, SCAN ME tags, seasonal and Japanese motifs; you can search them by name or pick from the ones you used recently. Every decoration is drawn by papatto and can be filled with one color or a gradient. Besides the use, you can filter templates by 18 looks, such as Big type, Receipt, Neon and Japanese patterns.

Can I use it for work, like shop displays or flyers?

Yes. You’re free to use your cards for shop displays, flyers, business cards and more. The template colors and decorations were made by papatto and contain no other company’s logos. “QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up, no ads, no limit on how many cards you make, and no watermark on saved images.
